13 on Thursday

Random 13 things

A few things I forgot to take to camp

1. Sharp knives

2 .The apple/peeler/corer thingy

3.More than one bra - so much for colour coordination

4.Camp chair - dining hall chairs NOT comfy for reading

What I remembered to take to camp this year

5. margaritas in a bottle - damn straight - necessary for making perogies

6. rubber boots - really wet this year

7, jacket with a hood

as for the rest

8. Vista is a pain in the ass. - and I am STILL not getting a MAC so don't even go there.

9. must find recent utility bills and tax statement for the real estate transfer

10. SU is talking to me all of a sudden. Particularly about the dog and how he needs this that and the other thing.

11. Two friends are bringing over champagne after SU leaves the house.

12. I realize people don't know what to say but it's a divorce not a death... though......

13. WHY are so many people intent on making sure I "get out there " soon after SU is out of the house? roll eyes.

hahaha, count me in on the Champagne! As for "getting out there", well ~ be open to suggestion at least....

Oh where did you get your rubber boots and rain coat??

Treat the chatty cathy as you would a mosquito that constantly buzzzzzzzz in your ear. RAID!! LOL

Ahhhhhh! RAID!!!! I can still see those old commercials.

Just had to deal with a friend's sister's pc with vista. yeah, get a mac.

SU giving advice on the dog? does he know how to take care of anything? himself?

It is a death of sorts and just like any death some are tragic and unexpected while others are a blessed end to a long hard struggle. All of them hurt in one way or another. Those that are awkward are just trying to get a feeling as to whether you view this as an incredible loss that you couldn't prevent or as a shedding of a great weight that makes you feel relief and happiness. Then they weigh your reaction against their deeply held beliefs on divorce. So, yeah, some of it is going to be as awkward as a funeral home. It passes quickly as they learn how you are treating it.

As for getting out there... my personal experience is not so fast. It is good to stay active in social activities and you seem to have a few (scrapbooking, gals night out, classes etc) but you just came out of a long relationship and it will be a while before you are comfortable in your own skin and know just who it is you are giving to someone else. That does not mean be a hermit and avoid men (or women - not judging LOL) just take advice to "dive back in the pool" with a bit of caution.

It ain't over til its over. The reality of that hits some people like a ton of bricks others get it more slowly. You just don't know and you can prepare for it the best you know how but how do you prepare for the unknown? Not to try to scare you or anything but just take whatever reaction comes and call on friends to help you through it if need be.

Excellent list.
My kids loved our apple/peeler/corer thingy when they were little. We called it the slinky apple maker.

I hate it when I forget to bring more than one bra. At the very least I need 1 each: white, black and beige. {I don't know how to pack light cuz a girl always needs options.}

HELLS yeah on the margaritas in the bottle. That is necessary for pretty much anything, imho.

If this next winter is anything like last I will need to get some rubber boots. Wet feet are just not any fun when you are old like me.

I don't have Vista yet. The kids do. The boy likes it and the girl not so much.

Champagne is good if you are up to it. I was shocked at how I felt when the papers were finally in my hot little fist. As Rudy says, you won't know until you know. Just go with it whatever it is.

Take your time getting *out there*. You will know when you are ready to do so.

love and hugs,
